Servant Leadership in Tech: Why the Best Teams Put People First

Read MoreWhile my roots are in frontend development, my passion lies beyond the code — in building high-performing teams, driving technical strategy, and mentoring the next generation of developers and leaders.
My career began in the trenches of code, working my way up to Senior Frontend Developer. Along the way, I discovered something even more fulfilling than writing clean code — empowering people. I've led teams through challenging projects, built collaborative processes from the ground up, and coached developers to grow both technically and professionally.
Now, with an MBA in IT Management and ongoing studies in Leadership & Management, I'm positioning myself for the next step: a formal management role with a long-term goal of becoming a CTO. For me, leadership isn't just about authority — it's about vision, culture, and fostering an environment where innovation thrives.
I believe great technology comes from great teams — teams that are empowered, supported, and aligned with a clear purpose. My leadership philosophy, "Beyond the Code," centers on this belief: investing in people first, because strong individuals build strong products.
As I move further into management and technical leadership, my focus remains on building cultures of excellence — where teams aren't just writing code, but solving meaningful problems and growing into the next generation of tech leaders.
At Two Barrels, I’ve grown from Frontend Developer to Senior Developer and unofficial team lead, taking on responsibilities that extend well beyond coding. I design and develop React.js, Vue.js, and WordPress solutions, but my passion lies in mentoring developers, refining processes, and ensuring technical strategy aligns with business objectives.
As a top-rated instructor at Nucamp, I teach React.js, JavaScript, and full-stack development. My focus goes beyond just technical skills — I’m invested in helping students gain confidence, break into tech, and build the careers they deserve.
